Last blogged @ 12:13:00 AM With the world cup fever going on, I realise that when I watch S League every Wednesday and Friday, the stadium would be empty. I'm assuming that alot of people are not watching S league cause there's World Cup. This thing was even reported by the New Paper. So I'm guessing that many people are not supporting local talents.. And that's very sad. And maybe that's also the reason why Singapore is not doing as well as those other people from other countries =((
So here's a little quiz to know if have been supporting local or foreign talents... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Know these people? ![]() ![]() Now try this? How many of you can name the first row of people and dont know the second row of people are? FYI, the second row of people are our very own soccer talents from Singapore! yes! bet some people would be (ohhhhhhhh-ing) to this statement. See!!! Not many people know the soccer players in Singapore. Very sad =(( Well for me, I can say that I know the soccer players and I'm abit excusable la cause Im not that into soccer anyway. So yeah. If people watch then I watch uh, if not then I wont go to the extent of watching every single match. Yeah! Unless it's a very interesting match then I go watch uh.. I've seen the Singapore players play and some of them not bad uh. Give them like more practice and they can go to the World Cup! Imagine Singapore get into World Cup top 32! Wahhhhhhhh!!! That'll be super exciting man!!! Not only are people neglecting local talents for Sports, but also the music industry. Okay! Another quiz... ![]() ![]() ![]() Know these group of people? ![]() ![]() Now try this? I bet most people dont know the second row of people. Not because of the small pictures but also cause you really really dont know them. I have been to some gig by local bands before. And I must say that sme of them are really good! yeah! really really good! Their originals are awesome and given the great exposure they will confirm succeed one like those bands in the first row. And sometimes I wonder how come Asian Bands like the ones in Korea and jaapanese can succeed and get people going gaga over them and bands in Singapore just can get people to go gaga over them. I've been asking this question time and time again. I really hope that someday local bands in Singapore would also succeed like the K-pop and J-pop. Maybe we can call Singapore ones as Sing-pop? It'll be cool! So the point I'm trying to make is, support local talent! Yes! And by supporting them, they can succeed! Yupp! Why dont we try and support our own people more? furthermore, other country has bigger fan base as their country itself is already soo big.. So yeah, for us to compete with them, we must have the whole country behind our local talents to help them soar to greater heights. It's not that Singapore got no talents. It's just that all these talents need to be polished and let it shine like a diamond. And this cant be done without the help of Singaporeans themselves! =))) Support Local Talent!!! |
